Seasoned Hill Country firewood

Why Seasoned Firewood Matters

Freshly cut wood can be nearly half water by weight. It is hard to light, throws little heat and leaves creosote in your flue, which is where chimney fires start. Properly seasoned oak and pecan burns hotter, cleaner and longer, the difference between fighting a fire all evening and simply enjoying it.

A full cord is a stacked pile 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet, and we also deliver half cords. Firewood goes fast once the weather turns, so call early and it is one less thing to think about in December.

Firewood services

Firewood from the Trees We Work On

Our firewood is a by-product of the removals and trims we do across the Hill Country, which means it is local hardwood rather than softwood trucked in from elsewhere.

Seasoned Oak & Pecan

Dense Hill Country hardwoods that burn hot and long, not soft filler wood. We split it and season it so it lights easily and burns clean.

Cord & Half Cord

A full cord is a stacked pile 4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft; a half cord is half that. Tell us how much you burn and we lock in the amount and a delivery window.

Delivered & Stacked

We deliver throughout Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Driftwood, Bee Cave, Lakeway and the surrounding Hays County area, drop it where you want it, and stack it if you would rather not.

Hill Country know-how

Why Seasoned Hardwood Beats Anything in a Bag

The Hill Country gives us two of the best firewoods in Texas. Live oak and post oak are dense and slow-burning, the wood you want for a long winter evening, and pecan lights a little easier and leaves a sweet smoke that is a favorite for the smoker as well as the fireplace. Bundled wood from a gas station is often softwood or barely dried, so it burns fast, smokes hard and leaves creosote in the flue. Our wood comes off local removals and trims, is split and left to season until it is dry enough to light easily, and is sold by the cord, a stacked pile 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet, so you know exactly what you are getting. Buying local also means you are not importing pests or disease from out of the area, and a tree that had to come down stays out of the landfill.

Order before the first cold front

Seasoned wood goes fast once the weather turns. A half cord ordered in October is the easiest way to make sure the fireplace is ready when the first norther comes through.
